Save to Favorites

Career Pathways Academy

Seeking online tutors using the IXL adaptive learning platform you will encourage the students during the session. Education students can learn about the growing use of IXL as it is used in several school districts. Others can help the students by encouraging them to participate. Each student will have their own materials to work on. We will give you the login information to join the class. Tutoring will be one on one and will be for 1 - 2 hours a week per student.

Schedules are flexible to meet the needs of the student and tutor.

It's an exciting way to help students become lifelong learners.

Please consider helping us help the students.

Mission Statement

To promote lifelong learning for today’s underserved youth by bridging educational gaps, setting them towards an achievable career path.

Description

This will be our second year and we are looking to enroll twelve students.

We need volunteer tutors/mentors to help our students. We are using IXL for content. IXL is the world's most popular subscription-based learning site for K-12. Used by over 12 million students, IXL provides personalized learning. It helps students bridge gaps and get them to their grade and level. IXL does a diagnostic test and then provides skills for the student to work on. We need tutors/coaches to help review where they are and mentor them as they work on skills. This is once a week, and the time is flexible. The students are working independently as well.

We were able to successfully help six students achieve their academic levels in our first year.
