Passionate about serving veterans? Enjoy the feeling of serving those who have so selflessly served us! Join us at Neighborly Care Network/Meals on Wheels Pinellas County to pack and/or deliver meals to formerly homeless veterans now living in transitional housing (hotels) throughout the county.

Details:
Meals (pre-packaged) must be packed in insulated tote bags prior to delivery. Packers are needed at:

  • 13945 Evergreen Avenue in Clearwater each Monday and Friday between 9 - 11am (2 volunteers each day)
  • Our Sunshine Center location downtown St. Pete each Wednesday between 9 - 11am (2 volunteers needed)
Delivery volunteers: Volunteers are needed to make deliveries to the vets and join a Neighborly driver on a Neighborly bus (volunteers do not need their own vehicle). Delivery volunteers must be able to read, have good people skills, and be able to push/pull carts with meals. Some hotels do not have elevators so stairs must be taken. Locations include:
  • 13945 Evergreen Avenue in Clearwater each Monday and Friday between 10am and noon. (6 volunteers needed - three pairs of two volunteers each day)
  • Our North Greenwood location on MLK in Clearwater each Wednesday between 10am and noon (2 volunteers needed who will work as a pair)
  • Our Sunshine Center location downtown St. Pete each Wednesday between 10am and noon (2 volunteers needed who will work as a pair)
Volunteers are required to complete an online application and attend an in-person orientation. To learn more or to apply, visit us at: https://neighborly.org/volunteer-opportunities/
