At the Alzheimer’s Association, our network of more than 75 chapters is working relentlessly to advance world-class research, ensure access to gold-standard care and support, and engage mission-driven volunteers who make it happen.

Task Background and Objectives
The Alzheimer’s Association, NYC Chapter is seeking a volunteer who is experienced in developing promotional materials for use in Alzheimer’s and dementia education, care and support services.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop written content for internal and external audiences.
  • Create content across various digital, social and print channels, as appropriate to the purpose and target audience.
  • Produce and edit copy, and other content elements for various communications platforms, including print, email, text, social media, presentations and video.
  • Frequency and duration of projects will vary based on need.


Experience / Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least one year experience in nonprofit writing.
  • Solid copywriting, editing and content creation skills, including storytelling with the ability to adapt style, tone, and voice to varied content types and audiences, while staying on-brand and on-message.
  • Experience with project management, file sharing software, spreadsheets.
  • Strong administrative skills (e.g., detail orientation, good time management, and overall organization).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (i.e., written and verbal), as well as strong technical skills, including Google and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, to coordinate projects, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Able to pass a background check: In order to be a volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter, each candidate is required to successfully pass a criminal background check prior to beginning their service.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to develop proficiency in specific software programs as required.
  • Excellent proofreading skills, with an eye for detail.


Commitment Expected:
7 - 10 hours per week (may vary depending upon project)
