ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana

Camp Fire

It is pumpkin smashing season! Join us for our 3rd annual Pumpkin Smash event and unite with others in the effort to help divert compostable material from landfills. Composting pumpkins is a great way we can help our planet and why not have some fun in the process! Bring your old pumpkins to compost...and SMASH! You can choose to drop your pumpkin from a ladder or use a hammer to break it into smaller pieces.

We could use help with the following stations/areas: -General parking and directing traffic (this would only occur at the beginning and they would probably also assist with the Pumpkin Smash station once everyone has arrived.) -Pumpkin Smash station (including helping weigh pumpkins, hold ladders, clean program equipment between uses, collect smashed pumpkins) -Food station (helping pass out pre-packaged food, cleaning eating areas)
