Teachers' Treasures

Join us as we pack up our store and drive around Marion County, hosting small, safe shopping events for teachers within their schools. We are using masks, gloves, and plastic screens to keep our volunteers and teachers safely 'shop'. Teachers will receive close to $200 worth of supplies for their classrooms and students, whether students are learning virtually or in person. Due to current Covid-19 concerns, many teachers are the sole provider of supplies for students that are coming to school from homes that have been deeply impacted. By working with Teachers' Treasures Mobile Outreach Program, you'll be helping teachers across the city provide for their students in this difficult time.

Times/dates/locations vary. Contact hanna@teacherstreasures.org for the schedule.

About Teachers' Treasures

Mission Statement

Teachers' Treasures obtains and distributes school supplies to teachers of classrooms and students in need.

Description

Every day at public, charter, private, and parochial schools located throughout Marion County, children of all ages attend class without the most basic supplies they need to get a good education. Dedicated teachers are often willing to pay for these much needed supplies out of their own pockets to make sure the kids in their classrooms have the necessary tools to learn.

Teachers' Treasures, in partnership with local businesses, charitable foundations, neighborhood organizations and individual contributors, helps fill this need by operating a volunteer based "Free Store for Teachers." Donated educational supplies and other materials are distributed via this unique conduit to teachers for the benefit of their students.

Teachers' Treasures offers a variety of group volunteer activities that can be tailored to your group or organization. Please contact Hanna Yaeger-Busch at hanna@teacherstreasures.org or call 317-264-1758 for more information.

Teachers who volunteer 2 or more hours can earn extra shopping passes. Teachers who are normally ineligible to shop can also volunteer to earn opportunities to shop.
