The Flight Path Museum and Learning Center is looking for a Grant Writer. The candidate will spearhead major fundraising initiative to raise resources to build organizational capacity and fund critical programs. The Grant Writer will be responsible in identifying grant opportunities from various corporations and foundations.
Essential Functions will include:
* Prospect potential donors
* Research and analyze grant/funding/fellowship opportunities
*Participate in meetings to discuss the status of applications and communicate requirements that is needed to include in the in each proposal to ensure guidelines are met
* Write grant proposals/applications
The Grant Specialist will work closely with the Fundraising Chair (held by a Flight Path Board Member) and with the Museum Manager to discuss the progress of each grant applications. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a vast knowledge of fundraising and proposal writing. The candidate must have the ability to work both independently and in a team.
**To adhere with social distancing guidelines, all applicants will work from their respective homes and communicate with the museum staff via emails, phone calls and Zoom meetings.

Description
FPLC was founded in 1995 by a coalition that included the LAX/Westchester Chamber of Commerce, the Aero Club of Southern California and the Southern California Historical Aviation Foundation.
FPLC, an independent, nonprofit corporation, has encouraged the public's interest in aerospace as well as counseling young people about advanced education resources and opportunities in Southern California. This Learning Center will provide an integrated aerospace education facilitation service. It will be coordinated with - and through -area high schools, trade schools, magnet school, community colleges and advanced universities.
