At Serving Our Neighbors, we know that education leads the way out of poverty. That is why we have created the Learning Enrichment Centers (LEC), where children in grades K-12 will receive free homework help and a Grab-n-Go dinner in a safe, socially-distant setting with reliable Wi-Fi access.
Volunteer as a Hub Co-Leader to assist our staff with management of an LEC site (6-12 hour per week commitment during the school year). As a Volunteer Hub Co-Leader you would assist with check-in, provide homework help and academic enrichment, and help oversee "Grab and Go" dinner distribution.
We have LECs around Central Ohio.
Times and days vary depending on the location but almost all the opportunities are in the afternoon. For more information, please contact our Volunteer Developer Haifa Lopez at firstname.lastname@example.org
To register as a volunteer, please go to our website: https://son-ministries.org/volunteer-2/
*We are following all the CDC guidliness to ensure a safe environment for children, volunteers and staff. Please bring a face cover when you volunteer at any of our sites. Antibacterial gel and wipes will be provided at each location.
We work to lift children and families out of suburban poverty by mobilizing the community to serve our neighbors
Serving Our Neighbors Ministries is a faith based not for profit which partners with children and families facing the unique challenges of suburban poverty in Hilliard (OH) and beyond. We mobilize life-improving resources and connect families to these resources (some of which we facilitate) and to a network of organizations and people who together strive to help strengthen families & our community. We offer a respect-filled HAND UP to those in need and mobilize the community to Serve Our Neighbor!
We run successful intertwined programs aimed at partnering with low income families within the largely middle-class suburb of Hilliard, Ohio - located within the Hilliard City School District. The programs we direct have all come to fruition because of direct needs we have found in our community after building relationships with and talking directly to the families in need in the Hilliard School District.
