Transitions - Mental Health Association

Volunteers must bring a face covering to the farm. It is also encouraged that volunteers wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty and good, closed-toe shoes. On the farm there are opportunities to weed, water, plant, and help prepare orders to be delivered. This is awesome because volunteers are working alongside some of our mental health clients.

Mission Statement

Transitions-Mental Health Association (TMHA) is a non-profit organization serving San Luis Obispo and North Santa Barbara Counties. We are dedicated to eliminating stigma and promoting recovery and wellness for people with mental illness through work, housing, community and family support services.

Description

TMHA designs, develops and operates highly effective mental health programs and services that give opportunities to at-risk youth and disabled adults and seniors. We strive to help our clients be defined by their strengths, gifts and contributions to society, not by their illnesses or difficulties. We have been part of the community since 1954.

  • You can come volunteer Monday-Friday between the hours of 9-1. You do not have to commit to any amount of hours, you may come as you please.
  • Once you get to the farm you must complete a confidentiality agreement and if you are a minor you must come with a parent or guardian.
