We are launching a social enterprise in India. The social enterprise will be owned by our non profit. We want to make sure that we follow all the proper procedures regarding the process of having a non profit owning a for profit entity that is based oversees. Currently we are an all volunteer organization but the for profit entity will require us to hire staff in country and are unsure how this process would work. We are looking for someone familiar with the ins and outs of non profit law to help guide these efforts.
Our organization works to bring solar power to energy impoverished communities in the developing world. We accomplish this through sustainable development and charitable giving. Our goal is to provide solar power to hundreds of thousands of people in need through micro finance as well as providing rural village schools and clinics with solar power.
We have been active since 2014 with our primary focus on India. We have distributed tens of thousands of solar lights, partnered with Johns Hopkins to do evaluation impact studies, built a solar powered water filtration plant and powered multiple village schools with solar. Our goal is to scale up our sustainable development efforts through the launch of our solar sales and finance social enterprise to assist thousands of households and small business in rural India that do not have adequate access to electricity.
We'll work with your schedule.
