Ancient Ways is a small grassroots charitable nonprofit, located in Lacomb, Oregon, which is dedicated to helping the people of Zimbabwe. Historically, we have provided support to build wells, huts, stoves, and toilets, to rural Zimbabweans as well as having sponsored thousands of children to attend non-free schools. Our current focus is on the children of Nhimbe for Progress and the construction of wells for the extended families in Mhondoro, as well as providing Covid-19 intervention (education and resources). We currently operate a preschool with +-75 children plus a Monthly Care program for over 300 maturing girls, and are repairing the Community Center and rebuilding wells because of the latest effects of recent cyclones. We are very skilled at making a large impact with few resources!
Currently, we are in great need of a volunteer who can offer 2 hours per month to focus on website backups and Word Press updates to stay current with website maintenance requirements, which can be done from the comfort of your own home. If you have a keen interest to make website improvements, your technical expertise would be most welcome. This would free-up our part-time Executive Director to focus on fund-raising to keep the programs going and to further expand them.
If you have these skills and have been looking for a way to use your volunteer time to really make a difference, we might make a great fit! Please contact Jaiaen Beck at firstname.lastname@example.org and read more about us at www.ancient-ways.org or chat with her at 541-259-HOPE or 877-TATENDA or WHATSAPP 541-570-9059.
The Ancient Ways' mission is to learn from and preserve the traditional ways of indigenous peoples around the world, and throughout time, by exploring their art, music, and cosmology, so that we can educate and encourage people today to develop ways to live which are more environmentally and socially sustainable.
Ancient Ways is located in Oregon 's mid-Willamette Valley, and is based in Lacomb, a rural area in the foothills of the Cascades. The organization, as a community, is an ever-changing organism. The local people who have created this network extend east to Sweet Home, south to Lebanon and Eugene , west to Albany , Philomath, and Corvallis and north to Monmouth, Stayton and Salem . This includes those who have been brought together by sharing the sweet sounds of Zimbabwean music, as well as those who find connection in the heart of Ancient Ways as a center for healing of both our planet and ourselves.
