Altus Hospice Care of Beaumont

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We are expanding our Volunteer Program at Altus Hospice- Beaumont to include Covid19 restrictions. If you can crochet or knit we are looking for volunteers to make fidget sleeves for our Dementia & Alzheimer Patients. Fidget Sleeves provide senses of comfort through the hands and eyes. They also can lift their spirits. Furthermore, these sleeves may occupy the person with dementia enough to allow their caregivers brief respite.

Volunteer from the comfort of your own home, on your own schedule, when it's most convenient for you.

Please reach out to me for more details! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Mission Statement

The Mission of Altus Hospice Care is to provide professional care with a personal touch. We accomplish this by focusing on both the patient and their family. We will treat the disease process with medical expertise while emphasizing quality living, not only physically, but also psychosocial, emotionally and spiritually. Comfort, compassion and a calming presence are the gifts we bring to this service, and we are honored to walk with the patient and loved ones through this special time. Our job is a sacred one, one which we view as a privilege. The Altus Hospice staff has a duty to treat each individual under our care, as well as our fellow team members, with the utmost respect, while honoring each individual’s choices and core values. To that end, we will listen intently, respond accordingly and serve humbly.

You can make an indescribable difference in someone’s life and in your community. Be the personal touch that people need as they go through one of the hardest, most emotionally draining times of their lives. Your presence can make this an unforgettable experience, not only for you, but for the family and friends of Altus patients.

At Altus, we invest in our volunteers. If you are interested in serving, we’d appreciate the opportunity to talk with you personally. All volunteers will be given a background screening, orientation and specialized training to prepare you for your position. We will also offer ongoing training and support to help you grow the gifts you share with our patients.
