The Hispanic Services Council Volunteer Program is looking to recruit passionate volunteers who are interested in teaching, helping, and making a difference, to assist in our Network of Active Parents program.
We serve families with children from ages 3-13 years residing in Hillsborough County. The Network of Active Parents program provides families with a 12 weeks curriculum that navigate participants through the educational system in Hillsborough County Public Schools. We provide support and build confident by empowering our families to be engaged in the education of their children. Along with that, when we provide parents the opportunity to learn English they feel also empowered by one of the things that becomes one of the biggest barrier, the ability to speak, understand and be understood by others when communicating in a non-native language.
Hispanic Services Council is looking for volunteer ESOL teachers, tutors, or instructors to teach English as a second Language to the families we serve. Volunteer ESOL tutoring may reside in other areas of the US, but must be able to pass our level 1 background check.
We need Virtual ESOL teachers for Adults:
- 12-week conversational English practice program for our parents that will cover several topics & professional needs.
- Literacy, Reading, & Writing tutors for Adults.
- Conversational English practice for professionals.
If meet the criteria and this opportunity speaks to your heart, please contact the Volunteer Resource Liaison at 813.510.7992 or email at Anissah.Tomas@hispanicservicescouncil.org for more information on how to get involved.
