Dallas, TX Fitness Instructors- Classes for Sober Active Community

Save to Favorites

PHOENIX MULTISPORT INC

Join us as a volunteer leader and support a sober active community in Dallas. Thanks to volunteer community leaders like you, we are able to provide free sober activities across the country to help build supportive connections with a diversity of fun activities.

We support our volunteers and enjoy placing them in roles they prefer that help make meaningful change in our sober community. Many of our activities are initiated because of a volunteer who has a passion and wants to share that activity with others. At the core of our activities is the fun, supportive, inclusive, accessible community we build and the meaningful connections that come out of that space. Currently in DFW our volunteers lead yoga, cycling, painting, running, mountain biking, walking, meditation, climbing, paddle boarding, volleyball, kickball and more! If you have a preference for marketing, outreach, or other activities, please let us know! We would love to find something that you love to do in a way that best fits your schedule.

Join us as we bring people in recovery together so that we can Rise, Recover, and Live!

Mission Statement

The Phoenix offers a free sober active community to individuals who have suffered from a substance use disorder and to those who choose a sober life. Using a peer support model, we help members heal and rebuild their lives while also striving to eliminate stigma around recovery.

Description

The ultimate impact Phoenix seeks is to help individuals not only achieve sobriety, but to thrive in recovery. The Phoenix Model is unique because of its non-clinical approach that uses the power of human connection and positive coping mechanisms through physical activity to help people heal from the underlying causes of addiction.

Phoenix peer instructors use an experiential approach that leverages innate goal-setting association with engagement in physical activities while facilitating a positive and supportive experience, allowing team members to shed the defense mechanisms that have historically kept them isolated. By bringing people together, Phoenix creates a community where people can heal, obtain essential life skills, and practice effective social interaction. Research suggests facilitating physical activity, social connection and community are potent strategies for promoting health and healing from disease.
