This is an opportunity to support families and children in our community. Join the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Crisis Nursery (BACN), a longstanding nonprofit organization committed to strengthening families and protecting children.

BACN’s Board the Executive Director in meeting the organization goals, providing organizational oversight, fundraising, and strategic planning. Board members are also asked to take an active role in supporting the organization and becoming ambassadors for BACN in the community! BACN was established in 1981 by Sister Ann Weltz and her founding partner volunteers, and we need you to build on that legacy as a part of our dedicated team.

Board members are expected to attend a bi-monthly board meeting. During COVID, these are held via Zoom. They are also expected to serve, and actively participate, on at least one board committee. Board members are expected to actively fundraise to ensure that BACN has the financial resource necessary to operate and fulfill our mission. Board members leverage their professional and personal relationships and connections to assist the agency in fundraising, identifying, and soliciting potential donors, as well as directly give to BACN’s work by making a personal annual contribution. BACN’s board serves as ambassadors in our community and promote and advocate for BACN’s mission, programs, and services.

We are looking for individuals who believe in BACN’s mission, programs, and have experience serving on a nonprofit board, preferably in children’s services.
