Volunteers are needed to help with food distribution at the Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC) 2 Mobile Pantry. Volunteer activities include helping to pack food and placing it into vehicle trunks. Volunteers will be working outside, so please dress for the weather. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Up to 8 volunteers needed per shift. Shift times vary. The event provides an essential service and social distancing requirements are maintained.

You will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire when you arrive for your shift. Click here to view the questionnaire: COVID-19 screening questionnaire. If your answer to any of the questions would be "yes," please cancel your registration. Getting ready Please do not volunteer if: You have a fever of 100.4 degrees or above. In the past 24 hours, you have experienced symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, diarrhea, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell. You have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days. When you volunteer, please bring a mask or other face covering that covers your nose and mouth. You will be required to wear a face covering during your shift

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.


Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
