Free Produce Giveaways - hosted by Feed Our Soul
We're feeding the people! Join our team if you're looking for a way to impact your community! We're leading an initiative to fight food injustices; which have only been heightened by COVID-19. With our agency partners, we're able to reclaim food and give it freely to our BIPOC communities in South LA.
POSITION DUTIES
We're looking for driver(s) to pick up the boxes of food and transport it to the distribution site. The commitment is from 11am to 4pm on Fridays; this includes travel time to pick-up sites and volunteering onsite. Volunteers must have their own vehicle.
Volunteer will drive to the distribution site, located in Los Angeles County. Volunteer will load their vehicle with produce, and drive that produce to the park in South Los Angeles. At the park, we unload the produce and service the distribution. Please be prepared to lift boxes/ crates of food. Volunteers must be able to carry at least 25 lbs.

Mission Statement
Feed Our Soul is a movement for the community bringing homegrown produce directly to food desert neighborhoods. We provide a safe space for students to learn about gardening, as well as cooking their own produce. By cultivating food onsite through hydroponic technology, the harvest is 100% locally sourced, while using sustainable resources to reduce harmful emissions and protecting the planet. Our nutritional program focuses on students learning to grow, eat, share and connect through a direct and natural food supply.

Feed Our Soul is a restorative organization. Our mission is to provide direct access to fresh produce for those who need it the most. We install hydroponic gardens into food desert neighborhoods and teach community members how to cook their homegrown produce. Our programs teach skills on gardening and culinary arts, bring a network of experts on nutritional literacy workshops and plus numerous restorative justice events to communities in South LA. You have the opportunity to give the gift of health! These soul-utions to the wellness disparity gives innovative, aeroponic gardens to schools, churches and families suffering from food insecurity.
