The Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteer will work under the supervision of the Chief Volunteer Officer, in engaging with the community and voluntary groups, faith-based groups, and other support organizations which are likely to come into contact with mothers specifically low-income mothers. The engagement will help to raise the profile of S.A.S.S. Inc. in the wider sector; identify new Mothers and/or expecting Mothers who might benefit from accessing our services, and establish referral pathways with key groups and organizations

S.A.S.S. Inc. is dedicated to improving the lives of new and expecting Mothers of low-income households through holistic peer support and providing access to the essential resources in their community they feel they need to thrive. We believe that with the proper resources and stronger support, Mothers will improve their overall wellness and raise healthier productive lives for their children.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • One full day per week for a minimum of 60 days OR two full days for a minimum of 30 days, you set your own work hours and are responsible for appropriate tracking of hours
  • • An understanding of motherhood needs specifically low-income mothers either through direct experience or previous employment/volunteering with new and expecting mothers from low-income households • The ability to work under own initiative
