Lotus Test Prep Foundation is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization that has been working for the past 3 years with economically disadvantaged students in the Houston and Katy area to improve math test scores. We have developed specific art therapy (geometric doodling) called Triangle Therapy. This is a centering art activity that Tames Impulsivity, Distractibility, and Anxiety, and improve focus and attention prior to test taking. At this time, due to the ongoing pandemic, we have created video tutorials, and we need volunteers to try our geometric doodling, and provide feedback on their effectiveness. The videos will be used at KatyISD afterschool programs, and Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) homework buddies sessions.

Mission Statement

The Lotus Foundation is an organization of highly educated professional educators that was formed post hurricane Harvey to assist students that were impacted by crisis with homework. We train students from Kindergarten to College Preparatory Tests and have a scientifically proven process. Instead of simply teaching in redundant ways, we successfully improve the student's ability to retain information during the learning process.

Description

Lotus Test Prep Foundation was formed to help students who have fallen behind due events such as the to last year's hurricane Harvey disaster, or other family crises. Currently we are working with Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) to assist parents whom are in crisis with job workshops, as well as their children with homework, and college admission applications. We are also teaming up with Student Doctor Network to assist students whom are interested in pursuing careers in medicine or dentistry with their exams, and applications.
