VOLUNTEER FROM HOME OPPORTUNITY:

Here at Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes, we are a community-supported kitchen and pantry service, primarily serving farmworkers, the working poor, the elderly, the disabled, and those experiencing homelessness. We operate a hot lunch program every weekday and a supplemental grocery program to over 600 families per month.

We strive to serve all of our guests with care and attention, and we would love to be able to add to our pantry packs some notes of encouragement written in SPANISH to brighten our guests' day. The majority of our guests are Spanish speakers.

Here are a few examples of phrases to write:

"Esperamos que tengas un buen día!" (We hope you have a good day!)
"Su bienestar nos importa" (Your well-being matters to us)
"Tú mejoras el mundo" (You make the world better)
"Cuidate y disfruta" (Take care and enjoy)
"No estás solo" (You're not alone)
"¡Eres Genial!" (You are awesome!)
"Por favor, distfrute su alimento, preparado con mucho cariño para usted." (Please enjoy this food prepared with care for you)
"Creemos en ti" (We believe in you)

If you are confident in your Spanish, please write your own, keeping with these general themes. And quotes, poems, or drawings are much loved!

We are a non-affiliated, community-based organization, so we ask that any messages include all cultures/religions. We are unable to distribute faith-based messages.

Feel free to get the kids involved! We have loved what we have seen in the past from children in our community who have contributed their artwork!

If you are interested in this opportunity, you can drop off the notes or mail them to:

150 2nd St, Watsonville, CA 95076.

If mailing, please designate that they are the "Lunch Bag Notes of Encouragement."

We so appreciate you taking the time to volunteer from home and adding a bright spot to members of our community!

Thank you,

Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes
