Sorting Room Volunteer
The Samaritan Center
The Sorting Room Volunteer is to assist our center with in-kind donations management.
- Be dependable and punctual.
- Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing and shoes.
- Ability to lift 20lbs and to stand or squat for long periods of time is preferred.
- Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, patient and have problem solving abilities.
Sorting Room Volunteers help us sort out clothing, toiletries, shoes, blankets, and any other in-kind donations the center receives. This may involve labeling clothing and shoes by size, organizing, keeping the Multi-Purpose Room stocked with clothing and supplies for our homeless clients, and keeping a log of the donations that come in and out of our office.
Sorting Room Volunteers may also be asked to come in on an as needed basis dependent on the volume of in-kind donations received. The Samaritan Center relies on Sorting Room volunteers to maintain an organized sorting room and Multi-Purpose Room.
Can be done in pairs, bring a friend!
9:00am-12:00pm weekly. Shifts available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays.
Training will be provided. Samaritan Center staff members are onsite for questions and concerns.
