Black History Research Assistant

The Research Assistant is responsible for participating in research methods that support the larger agenda. The primary duties will include obtaining historical data from libraries, archives and artifacts to determining the authenticity of historical data.

The role requires the ability to perform the following duties:

• Review print and online resources to gather information
• Obtain historical data from libraries, archives and artifacts
• Determining the authenticity of historical data
• Determining the significance of historical data
• Check facts, proofread, and edit research documents to ensure accuracy
• Create presentation slides and posters to help researchers present findings

Education

Have at least a bachelor's degree in History, Education, Humanities, Social Studies or course work in African American studies or a similar field of study.
