Summary: Free Wheelchair Mission (FWM) has provided wheelchairs in 93 countries around the world by working with like-minded partners. To help provide the wheelchairs safely and effectively, FWM also provides training and resources. These resources are provided to our in-country partners and the communities they serve locally. Some of our resources & training materials include information about disability, wheelchair assembly, and wheelchair provision.

FWM has an incredible need for the translation of materials into languages requested by partners. Translations are essential for our partners and the individuals who use the wheelchairs. Due to constant updating of these materials, the need is significant.

There may also be some opportunity for translation on the marketing side of FWM’s communications, as we are an international nonprofit.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Under the advisement of Free Wheelchair Mission Program staff, volunteers will translate materials into the appropriate language as needed.

Requirements: Volunteers will work remotely and must have access to their own computer with reliable internet connection. Volunteers must be able to work independently and must be comfortable with translation and cultural context & aspects of the language. Knowledge or familiarity of medical terminology is helpful.
