Description

Our efforts are geared towards providing opportunities and mentorships for low-income youth to reach their desired next step. By definition, young people who need about twice the federal poverty rate to meet their most basic needs are referred to as low-income youth. Data suggests that, on average, there are 765,548 families with 1,364,469 children. Low income children make up about 29% (400,177) of that demography. 81% (71,678) of children whose parents do not have a high school degree live in low-income families in Massachusetts. Our work is motivated by the vision of a world in which every American youth has access to facilities to lead a better future, regardless of race or creed. The key goals include providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships to promote quality education; financing after-school activities that allow low-income students to continue learning in a less restrictive environment; and raising funds for youth sports teams to buy equipment and uniforms. To measure effectiveness of our program, a survey will be carried out at the beginning of each semester, and again at the end of the fiscal year. The members of our foundation have a sense of obligation to the youth and their communities to give back. They are committed to doing their part to support the educational efforts of low-income students around the country.
