Disaster Mental Health interventions are short-term and can range from as little as

five minutes of support to a much longer period. Client engagement will occur once

or twice, but generally no more than three times. The most effective contact will often

involve psychological first aid, problem solving, facilitating the use of good coping

skills, psychoeducation and task-centered activities to address basic needs and

reduce stress.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Ideal availability is a minimum of 2-weeks assignments operating 6-days per week. Shift work may be determined by the scale of the relief operation which may include shifts for less than 12 hours.
  • You must have a license in a mental health field. Red Cross training will be provided.
