Volunteers are a valuable part of our hospice team, providing comfort and enriching the quality of life for our patients and their families. At Halcyon Hospice-Hattiesburg, we ensure your talents and skills are matched with current needs.
As a volunteer, you will receive specialized training and can choose which opportunities are most comfortable for you. Whether it is direct or indirect patient care.
As a hospice volunteer you may:
- Listen and support the patient and family.
- Read or sit with a patient for short periods of time.
- Prepare meals.
- Write letters.
- Run errands.
- Check on patients and family by telephone.
- Assist with clerical office tasks.
- Support community events like educational offerings, health fairs or fundraising.
