RoleOverview

In our pursuit to make quality education accessible around the world, the SchoolGroup (SG) is seeking a Curriculum Designers to join our team! In this role you will develop SG curriculums for global use, develop curriculum models/units and collaborate with Content Area Specialists to enhance professional learning.

Essential Functions

  • Work with one or more Subject-Area Specialists and a Director of Curriculum to plan and write one module at a time, based on the philosophy, principles and processes and products used by the CDD.
  • Because the modules are interdisciplinary, a Curriculum Writer will "pull together" into one module work done with each Subject-Area Specialist. Identify connections among the subject-areas addressed in a module, as well as themes and Essential Questions.
  • Find or create materials, such as activities, processes, documentations of learning, and assessments. Revise modules during the process according to internal feedback.
  • Revise modules according to data and feedback from local facilitators of modules.
  • Suggest revisions to the CDD’s processes and products. Consult with the Directors of Curriculum to adjust processes and products according to changes in School Group’s direction.
  • Serve as one of the CDD team members linked to local facilitators of modules.

Qualifications

Basic

  • Should have at least an MA in education or related fields.
  • Should have some experience in curriculum and professional learning, including writing and/or development of curriculum.
  • Should have been a team leader as well as a team member.

Preferred

  • E-learning/distance education experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of middle/high school curriculum across the content areas. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing curricula. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing year-long or semester-long courses in particular content areas and grade levels. 
  • Ability to develop units within the courses (and modules within the units).

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer-run. We welcome volunteers located anywhere in the world, as long as they can connect reliably to the internet.
