Call for Volunteers!
UN Women USA LA advocates on behalf of UN Women locally throughout the Los Angeles region. UN Women USA LA is accepting applications for one (1) Social Media Coordinator and 2-3 Social Media Volunteers to be a part of an inspiring team dedicated to supporting UN Women projects that span 100 countries around the globe! The Social Media Coordinator reports to the Communications Director. Social Media Volunteers report to the Social Media COordinator. Find us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn @UNWomenLA.
Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the following:
- Leading the social media team to curate our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn). Please visit our social media accounts @unwomenla for a general overview.
- Creating a social media calendar that includes but not limited to UN Women content, local/national/global news related to women’s rights, gender justice, feminism, etc., UN holidays, our chapter’s upcoming events and initiatives, etc.
- Managing and coordinating with Social Media Volunteer(s) who will be responsible for regular posting of 3-4 times a week
- Handling direct messages on social media platforms when needed
- Reporting directly to the Communications Director
- Working collaboratively with the Communications team to co-create and execute chapter-related initiatives on social media
- Experience with automatic scheduling of posts (via Hootsuite or other tools) is a plus

Description
UN Women USA LA is a multi-community-based effort. As such, we maintain relevance to local women in the community, in a manner that is sustainable, cost effective and ecologically responsible. The Chapter strives to actualize an identifiable connection between local and global concerns put into practice by our projects, programs and advocacy efforts. This includes research, education and advocacy for underserved women and girls in support of international programs for UN Women. We endeavor to partner with private and public sectors, non-for-profit organizations and concerned individuals in order to raise awareness and support for UN Women.
