Are you detail orientented and like to be in control? The Construction Volunteer Coordinator works closely with the Site Supervisor to discuss the manpower required for the tasks scheduled to be completed the next work session. The coordinator then contacts core volunteers, student groups, and other volunteers to schedule sufficient workers, with the necessary skill sets, to achieve our goals for the day. An additional position is to makes sure all volunteers sign in and out when working and under the correct category (regular, family or student). The coordinator also ensures all workers have signed the Release and Waiver of Liability Form before working on a project. The coordinator also works with the family and Family Support to ensure the family works enough hours to meet the requirements of the Sweat Equity Agreement they have signed with SUNHFH. The coordinator reports hours monthly to Family Support and the SUNHFH Administrator. We are looking to split these duties between at least two people, unless of course you would like to be in control of it all!

Mission Statement

SUNHFH bring's God's people together to build homes, communitites, and hope in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland Counties.

Description

Snyder-Union-Northumberland Habitat for Humanity builds home in partnership with people who are currently living in substandard housing and can not afford a traditional mortgage. Each approved partner works hand-in-hand with our community volunteers to build their own homes. They are required to attend a budgeting program and submit a $300 down payment. Once the home is complete the family will be given a no-interest rate mortgage for the amount that it cost to build the home. Those payments are then used to build more homes. We currently build one or two homes per year and have two part-time employees. Almost all of the administrative and construction duties are completed by volunteers, providing many different opportunities to the community at large.
