North East Wake Backpack Buddies is a 100% volunteer-run 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps provide weekend meals to children facing food insecurity in North East Wake County (Wake Forest, Rolesville, North Raleigh, Knightdale and Zebulon). We are looking for an individual to join our Board who can be responsible for our social media efforts for our organization. Board members also assist with running the program by organizing food packing events, attending special events and assisting with strategic direction and planning. The Board meets on the first Tuesday evening of the month to plan, discuss, and organize all aspects of the organization. Board members hold the position for a 3 year term.

N.E.W. Backpack Buddies is to provide food to hungry children in our region and to enrich their lives by giving them a greater opportunity for growth, learning, and development.
Description
N.E.W. Backpack buddies provides food every weekend to children who are identified as food insecure by teachers and guidance counselors at each school. The bags contain kid-friendly meals and snacks to last a weekend. There are approximately 400 children receiving weekly bags from North East Wake Backpack Buddies.
