Mission Statement

To Prepare Kids for College and Career Readiness Beginning in Kindergarten.

Description

Founded in 1998, Carter Community Charter School, Inc. is a public charter school serving students in grades K-8. Carter Community School serves primarily minority students deemed at-risk of academic failure based on federal and state definitions and descriptors. Our student population consists of 95% African-American students and 5% Hispanic. Approximately 85% of the school’s population falls into the economically disadvantaged population, meaning that these children qualify for and receive either free or reduced price lunches.

Carter Community Charter School, Inc. continues to serve students from Durham and surrounding counties with a high level of support from our teachers, administrators, parents and the community, including the major universities in Durham, Durham Housing Authority, LINKS, and other social organizations. Our ongoing efforts and dedication, along with support from outside the school, will help us continue to make significant progress towards raising achievement and providing the best education possible for our students.
