Disaster Action Team volunteers respond to thousands of disasters, large and small, every year. The majority of our responses are to home fires, where we provide financial and material assistance, comfort, and access to community resources to people who have just had what is likely the worst day of their lives.
We have a need for a volunteer interested in leading the Disaster Action Team Northern Nevada. This position can be done virtually and in-person, and you'll have a direct impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Supports DAT Leadership to ensure volunteers remain engaged and active in the DAT program.
- Ensures chapters/regions implement and adhere to Red Cross DAT and other applicable standards and procedures.
- Communicates training and development opportunities to all members of the DAT program.
- Provides leadership and technical guidance to DAT members.
- Serves as DAT Program subject matter expert and is knowledgeable of all areas of Disaster Cycle Services.
- Assists in developing and training new DAT leaders in the region
Functional:
- Oversees the management and tracking of consistent and standardized service delivery.
- Ensures that regional and national guidance is widely communicated and observed.
- Creates regional implementation plan for DAT related doctrine updates as necessary using on-site training, webinars, conference calls, and meetings.
- Builds DAT capacity through coordination of recruitment, training, and mentoring efforts.
