Remote Database Assistant for Non-profit Organization


HERE TO SERVE is looking for a resource database assistant to work pro bono. You will support our mission to mobilize people and resources to meet daily living requirements of parents struggling with pediatric cancer who do not qualify for government assistance.


ABOUT HERE TO SERVE:

We believe a pediatric cancer diagnosis should not cause the loss of a parent’s job, health, home, or cause them to enter into bankruptcy to care for their child during a medical crisis. To help mitigate this, we mobilize people and resources to help meet their needs.


ROLE DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a database assistant to work remotely and research charities and other organizations who are poised to help. Refine and update contact information, services offered, areas of service, etc. Help add to our increasing list of nonprofits and pitch new category ideas. Will require internet research as well as phone calls to identify relevant information we can build upon. You will be working with the Here to Serve Executive Director, Research Manager, and Database Administrator/Board Member.


RESPONSIBILITIES : * Edit database, update existing entries with new information. Research new nonprofit organizations, add to our list of resources. Meet weekly with Research Manager. Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum volunteer hours expected: 5-6 hours per week
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Database experience preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with database software such as Excel and Sharepoint.
  • Affords opportunity to join our Junior Board of Directors currently being developed.

Here to Serve is a non-profit organization offering immediate non-medical assistance to friends, neighbors and loved ones who experience life-threatening health crises or sudden tragic injuries turning their world upside down. Here to Serve acts as intercessors and navigators demystifying the plethora of nonprofit, health care, government, professional, and corporate services available. Here to Serve coordinates website and personal services to individuals and families. Our mix of website support and personal services includes assistance with: professional and nonprofit services; counseling; fundraising; child care; meals; household needs, transportation, pet care and general logistics.
