Mission Statement

Yoga House is a Detroit based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to empower residents to take control of their lives by promoting healthy eating and utilizing the practice of yoga and mindfulness to increase health and wellness.

Description

Yoga House shares the healing practice of yoga and mindfulness untied with nutritional education with Detroiters affected by poverty and unhealthy lifestyles. We know that yoga is a powerful and effective tool to increase health and awareness and to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress and post-traumatic stress disorder. Through individual classes and workshops that promote healing and build resilience, Yoga House will transform our community's most vulnerable population so they'll be able to navigate life's challenges with ease and grace. We have received a 30k grant to get us started on renovations for our new space located in Southwest Detroit! Our goal is to earn this money back in fundraisers by October 2021...plus more!
