: Microsoft Teams User Support

Summary

JerseySTEM is deploying Microsoft Teams for non-profit as a tool to organize virtual coding outreach classes and provide live technical support. We are looking for a Pro-bono volunteer with experience managing teams as an administrator to support the deployment of our e-coaching. The incumbent needs to support the session on Wednesdays between 3pm-7pm EST over a 10-week period beginning September 30th.


Essential Functions of the Volunteer Position

  • Troubleshoot and solve problems in real-time
  • Provide user training and coaching
  • Escalate and collaborate with IT and the Tech App Business Partner team to resolve system issues

Required Education, Background, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in technology or related field
  • Ability to communicate complex system concepts to lay people
  • Expertise in technology solutions
  • Operational problem-solving mindset from the point of view of systems thinking
  • Ability to think outside the box

Weekly Time Commitment Required

  • 7-10 hours per week, must be available on Wednesdays 3pm-7pm EST over 10-week period starting September 30th

JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math ("STEM") education to girls grade 5-8 from underserved communities in New Jersey. We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities. Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.

Description

Incorporated in 2013, JerseySTEM started bringing afterschool enrichment programs to middle school girls in 2015.
We have since provided 1,000 students with exposure to afterschool enrichment programs delivering more than 20,000 hours of instruction. Students learn to code, build robots, solve problems and through that process gain self-esteem and confidence that they can be the leaders of tomorrow.
