Position Title
Digital Literacy Team Member
Purpose
Did you know that many adults are struggling to use their smartphones, set up an email, and search the internet. This adversely affects how they are able to support their children in online schooling, search for and acquire a job, and further their education. Reading Connections is working to full integrate digital literacy lessons into all tutoring programs.
Responsibilities
- Create short (2-5 minute) demonstration videos in the following areas:
- Smart Device Features
- Operating Systems
- Internet
- GCS Programming
- App such as Zoom, WhatsApp
- Develop and implement digital literacy lesson plans
- Tutor native and/or non-native English speakers
Qualifications
- Tech Savvy
- Ideal for Computer Science major
- Service-minded
- Enthusiastic video creating/editing
- At least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Experience tutoring English language learners is preferred, training provided
Time Commitment
2-4 hours per week
