SNAP ( supplemental nutrition assistance program. Formerly known as "Food Stamps"). This volunteer opportunity supports the St. Louis Area Foodbank in it's outreach to Southern IL county residents. ( Especially the counties of Jackson, Williamson, and Franklin. Residents of Southern IL would be ideal, as mileage reimbursement is not available.

This volunteer role will involve attending local food fairs, mobile food markets, local pantries, as well as identify other opportunities for outreach & education.

The volunteer will not be completing the SNAP application, but will be educating the public about SNAP eligibility and support services provided by STAFB in completing state required forms.

Strong communications skills and the ability to work with many different personality styles necessary.

Proficiency with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is necessary.

Social services or government program familiarity would be helpful!
