We are searching for caring individuals to provide weekly virtual peer to peer wellness support for individuals who have recently become unemployed due to COVID19. Our volunteers ensure each participant makes notable progress towards positive mental health and employment. Together clients and volunteers build a trusting relationship to alleviate the effects of isolation and unemployment. Volunteers provide structure in SMART goal setting, active listening, and provide resources on stress reduction methods such as journaling and mindfulness apps, and social service navigation.
Volunteer requirements:
18 years or older
Submission of background check
Commit to 8 hours of training
Minimum of 2 hours of volunteering per week for at least 6 months.
This is a remote/virtual opportunity and volunteers can apply regardless of whether they live in the state of Delaware or not.
We hope you’ll consider this unique opportunity to assist your community in a meaningful and impactful way. If you’d like to apply please do so through our website https://www.jfsdelaware.org/get-involved/volunteer/ and schedule an interview directly with Volunteer Coordinator, Emily Griffith, in the confirmation page.
