Role Description
Join our fun Design Committee as Vice Chair and make a difference in Historic Downtown Beaverton. You will act as chair in the chair’s absence. Attend Board meetings when the chair cannot attend and will have voting powers at that meeting. Attend other committee chair meetings when the chair cannot attend. Together with the committee chair, the vice chair will monitor all progress and action-items that come from committee meetings and exist in project work-plans. Attend BDA trainings for new volunteers and support the onboarding process for new committee volunteers. Coach and mentor committee members for improvement in fulfilling the charter and work plans of the committee. You will be the first choice for project management responsibilities for projects specific to the Promotion committee. Not required to be the designated project manager if other candidates are better suited or have greater capacity. Benefits of this role, skill to gain, fun parts

We seek to enhance our community identity and foster a center of activity and economic vitality for the heart of Beaverton. We do this through four primary points of emphasis

1) Promotion: Planning events that draw people in to downtown and promoting how exciting Beaverton really is. We are not a suburb!
2) Design: Improving the design of our downtown community.
3) Economic Vitality: Supporting local business growth, expansion, and recruitment.
4) Organizational Health: Fundraising, developing partnerships, and supporting a strong organization through internal processes.
