Spanish teaching


We are seeking a Teacher's Aide/Assistant for Saturdays. Can be once a week or 1-2x a month. ESL classes are for working full-time adults that are not native English speakers

  1. Saturdays 10 am - 12
  2. Main teacher can not attend every Saturday
  3. Looking for a experienced person, whom either wants to be an (1) Weekly Aide & Teacher on days the main teacher can not teach OR (2) just teach when Main teacher is away



Expectations:
  • Have previous experience teaching the English language or background in english
  • Availability on Saturdays. 10 am - Noon
  • Follow previous teachers curriculum, unless otherwise instructed
  • Maintains a cooperative attitude of when working together with a teacher assistant (if needed) and other volunteers.
  • Responsible for distributing and collecting homework, and assignments.
  • Creating copies or notes for absent Students, so they can pick up later to do for next week
  • For class books: We recommend "Inglés Básico: Una introducción práctica en treinta temas básicos para empezar a hablar ya!" and/or the "Oxford Picture Dictionary English-Spanish"
  • Helping to answer students questions
  • weekly roll-call on students
  • Distribute feedback forms at the very end of class sessions for the quarter

Our normal Yearly schedule for classes:
  • mid Jan - mid/early April
  • end of April - end of July
  • August we are usually closed for programs
  • mid Sept - Mid Dec

We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, dedicated to sponsoring free education and community services. Programs include computer literacy, English and career training. We also provide advocacy services for individual rights. We execute positive solutions that help our community grow and improve in the various areas that affect our daily lives.
