Center for Arts at the Armory

  • 4 people are interested

The Center for the Arts at the Armory has certainly experienced limitations due to the Covid 19 crisis; the wide variety of events we hold here are on hold while we await a vaccine. But the world always needs art, and we are committed to providing artistic content no matter what is going on in the world.

We are searching for a gallery coordinator to assist in coordinating with artists and promoting events in our cafe space. ROOTED is the cafe at the Center for the Arts at the Armory, and though we aren't able to have large scale gallery openings at this time, we are looking to continue to promote galley shows in our space. Our current show will be wrapping soon, and we're looking for a knowledgeable art fanatic to assist us in planning our next show, and all shows to come.

The Gallery Coordinator will assist us in reaching into the artist community to build a schedule of gallery shows for our space. He or she will coordinate with artists on hanging and displaying their work in our space, build a calendar of galleries for the year, and assist in promoting these shows to the world. He or she will work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Manager to ensure that shows fit the goals of The Center for the Arts at the Armory, and maintain high standards while being community oriented.

We are looking to work with your schedule to make the position fit, and the hours are not set. You may be heavily involved while handling the transition between shows, and then have very little or no hours of work while the show is up and running. You will have the opportunity to bring your tastes and knowledge to the table in helping build the schedule, and will be given the opportunity to be creative in the displaying of work.

To apply, email us with your qualifications and a bit about yourself.
