Appointment Reminder Calling is one of the most important volunteer positions in the organization. We want to ensure all Veterans show for their medical appointment. If for any reason, they cannot, we want to reallocate that appointment to another Veteran.

Volunteers are provided with future clinic appointment lists. From a scripted message, volunteers call each of the Veteran's to remind them of their upcoming appointment date/time, clinic location, and early reporting time.

Mission Statement

To fulfill President Lincoln's promise: "To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan" by serving and honoring the men and women who are America's Veterans.

Description

The PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA Clinic offers volunteers the opportunity to serve those who have served.

Each year, over 75,000 VA Voluntary Service (VAVS) volunteers nationwide give more than 11 million hours in service to America's Veterans. It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that these VAVS volunteers provide to Veteran patients and families. VAVS volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation's Veterans and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Founded in 1946 to provide for our nation's Veterans while they are cared for by VA health care facilities. VAVS is one of the largest centralized volunteer program in the Federal government. More than 7,400 national and community organizations support the program. Volunteers have provided over 760 million hours of service since 1946.

Join the VAVS family and make a difference in the lives of America's heroes!
