Lutheran Social Service of MN

AmeriCorps Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families is looking for individuals to service as respite volunteers throughout Traverse County. Volunteer 300 or 450 hours a year (6-8 hours a week) and receive a monthly living allowance, plus an education award. During Covid, our volunteers meet virtually or via phone to provide support until it is safe for in-home face to face meetings.

Our volunteers provide friendship to an older adult which allows the family caregiver a well-deserved break to run errands or rest. Volunteers can also transport the older adults to activities, doctor's appointments, grocery store, etc.
