AmeriCorps Legacy Corps for Veterans and Military Families is looking for individuals to service as respite volunteers throughout Swift County. Volunteer 300 or 450 hours a year (6-8 hours a week) and receive a monthly living allowance, plus an education award. During the pandemic we continue to provide services via phone and virtual meetings. Volunteers will be visiting face to face in the future when it is safe for all.
Our volunteers provide friendship to an older adult which allows the family caregiver a well-deserved break to run errands or rest. Volunteers can also transport the older adults to activities, doctor's appointments, grocery store, etc.
