Mission Statement

The mission of Dance for All Bodies is to dismantle ableism through access-centered dance classes, community-based learning, and equitable access workshops. We envision DfAB as a joyful, access-centered dance community where people can show up as their full authentic selves.

Description

Incorporated in 2019, Dance for All Bodies (DfAB) is a non-profit that organizes dance classes designed for people with disabilities. We welcome people of all abilities in our classes. Our classes, which represent a wide variety of dance styles, are donation based and held virtually over Zoom. We offer Closed Captions in all of our classes as well as ASL Interpretation. We aim to make people of all abilities feel more welcome in dance spaces, because everyone should have the opportunity to feel the power of dance. Just like Alvin Ailey, we believe that "dance came from the people and that it should always be delivered back to the people".
