Mission Statement

The mission of the Teacher's Treasure Chest, Inc., is to provide FREE learning resources to First Year Educators and their students in Title I Schools. Our goal is to defray the cost associated with creating a nurturing classroom environment which stimulates learning, creativity, and inspiration. Our vision is to Eliminate Barriers In Education

Description

The Teacher's Treasure Chest, Inc, is dedicated to supporting first year educators and students in Title I schools. Since our inception in 2015, we have supported over 500 local youth from 11 different middle and elementary schools throughout Miami Dade County. Through our Signature Program aptly named Teacher's Treasure Chest we support First Year Alumni Teachers from Florida Memorial University. To date, we have supported 5 First Year Teachers by donating a school year worth of supplies to their class at a value of $400 per class.

Throughout the years, we have expanded our programs to include additional initiatives. One of our newest is Chapter Chats. This initiative allows for local authors to visit schools and conduct age appropriate book talks about their books. Our goal is to spark an interest in reading. At the end of the chat, authors donate signed copies of their work to the students. Then there is the all out fun Literally Lit Kidz/Teenz. These "Lit" events represent the true definition of our vision, which is to Eliminate Barriers In Education. Educational resources such as school supplies, backpacks, books, and uniforms are distributed to First Year Teachers and students in underserved communities in a fun and exciting environment.
