Looking for the highest-impact, lowest-risk way to volunteer? Join our Flyering Squad and help spread the word about our Food Help Hotline!

The Lemontree Food Help Hotline connects New Yorkers in need with emergency food. Every call to the hotline is answered by a real human being with access to up-to-the-minute information on food pantries, soup kitchens and government programs across NYC. Thanks to flyering (the ONLY way we advertise the hotline), we've helped over 1,000 New Yorkers find food resources.

We host flyering events 3-4 times a week in convenient and easy to access public areas across the city. Your event leader will provide you with all the materials necessary for the project and break you up into small groups to complete your route. Each event is less than 2 hours long and makes a huge impact in getting the word out to those who need emergency food assistance most.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect volunteer opportunity-this is it. Text flyer 90847 to sign up!

Mission Statement

We believe everyone deserves an amazing dinner.

Description

Lemontree believes everyone deserves an amazing dinner.

As the COVID-19 pandemic struck New York, our nimble startup team pivoted to help save NYC's struggling emergency food system. Our first project, In It Together, connects thousands of volunteers with more than 70 high-need organizations. Now, we're expanding and continuing our work.

As the next months and years unfold, we're committed to making dinner time more dignified, more delicious and more fun for low-income families. As we do this, we're big believers in the power of technology and systems that scale. And we know that the best solutions come from listening to people who aren't like us.
