Want to get your steps in on a regular basis? Warm weather is coming and if you're interested in getting your step on .,.. we need YOU to come be a volunteer with our Patient Transport department. What will you be doing? Transporting, veterans, guests and even staff by wheelchair to their appointments or place of work.
What are we looking for? You to be physically fit to walk, stand and sit for periods of time. The willingness to help veterans and guests and always greet everyone with a smile. You will have an opportunity to speak with the veterans while wheeling them to their appointments. You'll even be taught how to maneuver a gurney to aid our inpatient areas on occasion and take veterans to inpatient appointments.
Don't spend your time mall walking this summer ... spent your time at the VA serving our Nation's Heroes!

The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System is a Joint Commission-accredited facility serving Veterans in eastern Colorado and parts of Kansas. The VA Medical Center is located in Denver, Colorado and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics are located in: Alamosa, Aurora, Golden, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar, CO. There are Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinics in Burlington and Salida, CO, an ambulatory surgical center at the Air Force Academy, a Community Living Center in Pueblo (40 beds), and along with the Department of Defense and Veteran Benefit Administration, an Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) Center at Fort Carson, CO.
