Our organization was started in response to Covid 19 by feeding front line workers via donations directly funneled to Vegan restaurants. Now, we have pivoted towards the food insecure. We need volunteer drivers to pick up meals at various restaurants and bring those yummy meals to places like the Lower East Side Girls' Club or the Sylvia Rivera Food Pantry or Children's Aid Next Generation. It is a richly rewarding experience to help feed those in need and it comes with the side benefit of a free yummy meal! Please see our instagram @supportandfeed to learn more.

About Support + Feed (In The Family Way)

Location:

289 Grand Street, New York, NY 10002, US

Mission Statement

Support & Feed is an initiative created by Maggie Baird, lifelong Vegan (and mom to Billie Eillish and Finneas) to help those in need during the COVID crisis and beyond in three ways. -Nourish and feed the ever increasing number of families, children, and marginalized people in need, focusing on BIPOC communities. -Support local plant based restaurants and their staff to survive by having them prepare high quality healthy meals. -Educate and raise awareness of the health benefits of a plant based diet for both humans and the planet.

Description

Support + Feed is helping small businesses stay viable during the numerous shutdown levels, but also changing the way the food insecure will be nourished in NYC. We are leading the conversation towards the benefits of a plant based diet and have excellent restaurant partners at the ready to prepare yummy and nutritious meals. Our chefs curate ingredients and supervise the process so that each meal - whether it's 50 or 150 meals are of the same caliber as a meal ordered off of Seamless or Door Dash. We gift every volunteer driver with a complimentary lunch as a thank you. Some of our restaurant partners are Marty's V Burgers, Vspot Restaurant, ByChloe, Veggie Grill, Peacefood and Monk's Meats.
