We have an opening for Assistant Treasurer for Poudre River Friends of the Library. The right person would have an opportunity to work with our current Treasurer for the next couple of years until her term is up and then they would move into that position,
Our Assistant Treasurer usually spends less than 2 hours a week on the described duties below. Our financial reports are in an Excel spreadsheet format. Applicants need to have a familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures and experience with the Excel program.
The Assistant Treasurer picks up the mail, with Treasurer’s help as needed - categorizes funds received by bank deposit, informs Treasurer of same, makes bank deposits, and scans new member forms to send to our membership director for data base entry. During book sales (4 per year during non-pandemic times), both have additional duties having to do with the sale cash boxes.
The Treasurer tracks our financial operations and presents a monthly report to the Board, pays bills and rent expenses, completes and submits tax returns and other required documents and monitors our bank accounts, among other duties.
The Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer are members of our Board of Directors and are required to undergo a background check. Our volunteer board directs our efforts to raise money to benefit our Poudre Libraries.
