Trail Clearing

If you are planning to be in beautiful Northern MN during the summer of 2021 there are trail clearing volunteer opportunities available in the Gunflint/Tofte District Superior National Forest, now through October 2021, tailored to your schedule.

Due to current safety concerns our projects are limited to smaller groups that include families, household or social bubble groups that live in the NE MN area or have planned lodging. We can provide the tools and know-how to take on a trail/portage clearing project with a crew leader in the Superior National Forest area.

Also, if you are planning to hike in the area or to paddle in the BWCA we are seeking volunteers to provide us with trail and campground survey feedback. Message us or email us at info@mnnvc.org. Thank you!

Location:

PO BOX 2113, TOFTE, MN 55615, US

Mission Statement

The Northwoods Volunteer Connection is dedicated to connecting volunteers with natural resource and recreation projects on public land in northeastern Minnesota with a focus on the Superior National Forest including the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Description

From State Parks to National Forests, public lands make up a large portion of Minnesota's North Woods. People travel from near and far to visit the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and the waterfalls of north shore of Lake Superior, to hike, paddle, camp, hunt and fish, ski and snowmobile. By getting involved with stewardship activities you can help ensure that these public lands are preserved for the enjoyment of future generations. NVC seeks volunteers for projects within or near the Superior National Forest. We partner with the US Forest Service (Gunflint, Tofte, Kawishiwi, LaCroix & Laurentian Districts) along with other organizations - p;roviding planning, training, equipment & tools for single and multi-day projects.
